DURBAN, South Africa (Tuesday, 2 December 2008)
– Island Style International was proud to announce the hottest
event of the summer, The Island Style FlowPro fuelled by
Tropika!
The event, which featured SA’s hottest Flowboarders, musos and
bikini models, took place at the World-renowned WaveHouse Durban
at Gateway Mall in Umhlanga on Saturday 13thof December during
peak holiday season!
This wild event not only hosted some of the hottest Flowboarding
action going down anywhere in the World, but also featured a
rock concert bringing you one of SA’s most prolific bands,
Stealing Love Jones among others, adding to the festive vibe of
the event!
Not only that but the event also featured Island Style’s
exclusive Team Models with a few special guests doing promos and
just hanging out.
The best part is that this all take place for free, gratis,
nada! However, the event was supported by The Sunflower Fund and
donations at the door were strongly encouraged! R15 got you a
Sunflower Bandana and 100% of the donations went towards
fighting children’s Leukaemia.
To cap off what was set to be an amazing event/festival there
was a free after party at the WaveHouse, with a cash bar, from
10pm ‘til late!
ZigZag and Salt Water Girl was present with giveaways and a
special Island Style subscription offer with a prize draw for
all subscriber on the day going down live after just before the
finals which will took place under floodlights on the evening of
the 13th. One lucky winner walked away with an awesome Island
Style hamper!
The event started at 3pm on the Saturday afternoon of the 13th
with the competition kicking off at 4pm and continuing into the
night the finals took place under floodlights.
Stealing Love Jones took the stage at 8:30pm with the prize
giving taking place directly after.
This event was set to blow up in a big way and kicked off Island
Style’s 2009 comeback campaign!
